Last week’s rankings in parentheses.
1. Philadelphia Eagles (1). Impressive road win at Tampa Bay, but trouble could be brewing with wide receiver A.J. Brown.
2. Buffalo Bills (2). Still haven’t played a complete game, but are one of only two unbeaten teams left in the league. Can’t argue with the results.
3. Detroit Lions (4). Took care of business against the Browns. After a quarter of the season, the NFC’s top two teams (Eagles, Lions) look to be on a collision course.
4. Kansas City Chiefs (7). Get-right win over the Ravens made a resounding statement – the Chiefs’ obituary was written prematurely.
5. Tampa Bay Buccaneers (5). Rookie receiver Emeka Egbuka looks like a rising star.
6. Los Angeles Chargers (3). That had to be a long, cross-country flight home after a loss to the Giants on Sunday. Now, a tough game against Washington awaits.
7. Los Angeles Rams (9). Solid rebound from a tough loss to the Eagles in Week 3. Need to get going on third downs offensively.
8. Seattle Seahawks (13). Looking more and more like they’re going to hang around the playoff race all season in the competitive NFC West.
9. Indianapolis Colts (10). They might be 4-0 if not for Adonai Mitchell turning in his entry for “bonehead play of the year.” Even so, they showed against the Rams they are to be taken seriously.
10. San Francisco 49ers (11). Quarterback Brock Purdy is hurt again as the 49ers’ tough luck with injuries has now stretched into a second season.
11. Pittsburgh Steelers (16). One of four teams to be on a bye in Week 5. That’s a lot of football to end the season for Aaron Rodgers, T.J. Watt and Co.
12. Green Bay Packers (12). Perhaps we were a bit premature in anointing the Packers as Super Bowl contenders after their 2-0 start.
13. Jacksonville Jaguars (17). Finding ways to win, but have to cut down on the number of penalties (30, most in the NFL).
14. Washington Commanders (8). Game No. 2 without Jayden Daniels didn’t go nearly as well as the first one.

15. Denver Broncos (15). Got back to .500, but have a matchup against the Eagles looming in Week 5.
16. Arizona Cardinals (14). It’s a good time to see the Titans on the schedule considering the Cardinals are 2-2 and a game behind every team in their division.
17. Baltimore Ravens (6). Now Lamar Jackson is hurt. The Ravens are in danger of falling out of the race.
18. Chicago Bears (20). Ben Johnson seems like a real try hard. Staring down a sideline reporter was a pathetic look.
19. New England Patriots (24). Statement game in Buffalo upcoming for the Patriots.
20. Minnesota Vikings (18). Taking back anything nice I said about Carson Wentz last week.
21. Atlanta Falcons (25). Good luck wagering real money on the Jekyll-and-Hyde Falcons.
22. Dallas Cowboys (23). The offense is functioning at a high level. The defense is not.
23. Cincinnati Bengals (22). Might have to consider a trade for a quarterback.
24. Carolina Panthers (21). The win over Atlanta in Week 3 is starting to look like the anomaly.
25. Houston Texans (26). Beating the Titans doesn’t fix all the things wrong with the Texans.
26. Las Vegas Raiders (27). Geno Smith leads the league with seven interceptions and has been sacked 12 times, which is fifth most. Not good.
27. Cleveland Browns (19). Went right back to looking like the Browns after an impressive showing in Week 3.
28. Miami Dolphins (29). Perhaps it’s a hot take, but I can see the Dolphins being better without Tyreek Hill sucking the air out of every room he enters.
29. New York Giants (31). They’re now 1-0 in the Jaxson Dart era. If he shows promise, that could save Brian Daboll’s job.
30. New Orleans Saints (32). Credit where it’s due: The Saints were a lot more lively opponent in Buffalo than I expected.
31. New York Jets (28). It’s becoming increasingly clear the rebuilding project new coach Aaron Glenn has in front of him will be long.
32. Tennessee Titans (30). Rookie quarterback Cam Ward said it best: “If we keeping it a buck right now, we (expletive).” You sure are.
