Jet2 has issued travel warnings to passengers to and from France and Italy on October 2 and 3 due to industrial action in the respective countries. In France nationwide strikes are taking place on October 2 which is impacting travel, education and health sectors. Meanwhile in Italy a 24-hour rail strike is taking place from October 2 to October 3, disrupting Trenitalia, Italo, and Trenord services. Earlier this week the Foreign Office issued a warning to Brits in France warning they could face disruption and travel delays. In an update issued on September 30 for its France travel advice, the Foreign Office said: “Calls for strike action and demonstrations across France on Thursday 2 October may cause disruption to travel. “Monitor local news and check for messaging from your travel provider about any potential delays.” Jet2 passengers in Italy are warned to allow extra time for their journeys to the airport. In a statement on its website, the airline said: “We have been informed of a national public transport strike taking place across Italy between 2nd and 3rd October 2025. “These strikes will affect trains operated by Trenitalia, Italo and Trenford from 21:00 2nd October 2025 until 21:00 3rd October 2025 (All times local). “If you are due to travel with Jet2.com and are using public transport to travel to the airport, please check before you travel and allow extra time to get to the airport.” Never miss a story with the MEN’s daily Catch Up newsletter – get it in your inbox by signing up here It added that those with transfers booked may find they’ve been amended and the airline said this will be communicated to passengers.
