Most shrines you’ll climb up to in Ghost of Yotei are nothing more than that, but if you look around the start of the Amber Respite Shrine’s trail, you’ll find a note that begins the “A Flower for Your Thoughts” tale. Your goal will be to pick three blue flowers on the shrine trail, but they can be easy to miss.
Part of the trouble is the flowers you’re looking for aren’t any different from those found throughout Yotei’s expansive map. Another issue that may crop up is that the directions aren’t all that clear, and can actually be a little misleading – likely an intentional choice to service Ghost of Yotei’s wandering gameplay.
Where To Start The “A Flower For Your Thoughts” Tale
Tokachi Range
“A Flower for Your Thoughts” can be started at the Amber Respite Shrine, which is located in Tokachi Range. The region is northeast of Yotei Grasslands, where the game starts, and you’ll have to travel through Tokachi Range while searching for Lord Saito and the Kitsune during Atsu’s hunt for the Yotei Six. Travel almost directly west from Huranui’s Rest Inn, and look near the Amber Respite Shrine trailhead for a note by one of the Torii gates.
Where To Find The Three Blue Flowers
Past The Shrine
The note is a little misleading, telling you to gather blue flowers on the shrine trail, but you’ll actually have to go all the way to the shrine. Once you bow at the shrine and collect your new upgradeable charm, do not take the quick descent down. Go to the left of the shrine, and find a rocky slope to slide down. Continue along this path after sliding down until you reach a pond.
The first flower will be to your left, among a few trees, where leaves cover the ground (screenshot number one above). Continue around the edge of the pond area to where the water is draining into a waterfall to find the second flower. Finally, turn around and look for a waterfall that is feeding this pond. Next to where the waterfall lands, on the right side, is the third and final flower. All three will be labeled as hydrangeas.
