Events in the Quad-Cities this weekend, Oct. 2-6

With the Family: East Moline Fire Department Open House
The East Moline Fire Department is inviting the public to learn more about the department and fire safety with an open house from 1 to 4 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 5.
The event takes place at Fire Station No. 23, at 901 Avenue of the Cities, East Moline. Activities include equipment displays, a kids obstacle course, a bounce house and even an opportunity to spray a real fire hose.
The American Red Cross and Genesis Ambulance will be special guests for the event.
Muscatine Fire Department is also hosting an open house this weekend, from noon to 3 p.m. on Sunday at the Public Safety Building, 312 E. Fifth St., Muscatine. Rock Island is hosting an open house on Saturday, Oct. 4, from 10 a.m. to noon in front of the police and fire stations located on Fifth Avenue between 12th and 14th streets.
A ‘Romantic’ concert: QCSO Masterworks concert
Kick off fall and the Quad City Symphony Orchestra’s 111th season with a Masterworks concert featuring pianist Wei Luo for a performance of Edvard Grieg’s “Piano Concerto.”
The Romantic-era program also includes Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky’s “Plonaise” from “Eugene Onegin” and Johannes Brahms’ “Symphony No. 2.”
Performances are at 7:30 p.m. Saturday at the Adler Theatre in Davenport and 2 p.m. Sunday at Centennial Hall at Augustana College in Rock Island. More information and tickets are available at qcso.org. Tickets start at $8.

Celebrate fall with beer, brats and music at Oktoberfest Rock Island from noon to 10 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 4, at the Hauberg Estate at 1300 24th St., Rock Island.
The event includes three bands, with The Happy Belgians performing from noon to 2 p.m., Gutternberg German Band from 2 to 4 p.m. and Die Musikmeisters Band from 4:30 to 8:30 p.m. Katy’s Import Foods will be serving up food, including pretzels, brats and spaetzle. Stella Sawmill is sponsoring log sawing and a Hammerschlagen contest, where participants compete in driving nails into a wooden log. All accompanied by a wide selection of beers.
There will also be family activities.
Admission is free from noon to 4 p.m. Tickets for entry after 4 p.m. can be bought for $10 in advance at events.humanitix.com/5th-annual-oktoberfest-rock-island or $15 at the door. Proceeds go to the Friends of the Hauberg Civic Center to help their mission of maintaining and restoring the estate.
On a Budget: Quad Cities Tea Festival
Learn about the tea culture around the world with the inaugural Quad Cities Tea Festival from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 5, at Common Chord, 129 Main St., in Davenport.
The $5 entry covers a sample cup to try various teas. The family-friendly event also features various vendors for tea, teaware, baked goods and other items. There are also plenty of opportunities to learn more about tea and tea culture, including education sessions and hands-on classes, for an additional fee.
The event is organized by Mayalu Coffee in Des Moines. A link to tickets can be found on the Quad Cities Tea Festival event page on Facebook or at qcteafestival.com.
Dine and Drink: QC Flavor Fest 2025
QC Flavor Fest pairs local food and drink with live music from Chicago Farmer from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 2 at Common Chord, 129 Main St., Davenport.
All of the proceeds go to support Common Chord’s music education programs. The event will also have a range of prizes and auction items.
Tickets can be bought at Common Chord’s website at commonchordqc.org.
