Japanese wrestling star Sareee made her debut for Ring of Honor on Wednesday, October 1. The appearance took place during the ROH television tapings held just before the 6th Anniversary episode of AEW Dynamite.
Sareee’s arrival brings a significant amount of international experience to the ROH women’s division. The 29-year-old veteran is one of the most decorated active wrestlers in the world today.
She began her career in Japan at the age of 15, primarily working for World Woman Pro-Wrestling Diana from 2011 to 2020. During her time there, she became a two-time Diana World Champion.

In 2020, Sareee was signed by WWE and began performing on the NXT brand in 2021 under the name Sarray. Her tenure with the company ended in March 2023 due to what was reported as creative differences.

Since returning to Japan, she has had a highly successful run across multiple promotions. She became the inaugural Marigold World Champion and currently holds both the prestigious IWGP Women’s Championship and the Sukeban World Championship, where she competes as Sareee Bomb.
Her appearance at the ROH tapings marks a potential expansion of her work into the United States. It could signal more bookings with AEW-affiliated programming for the decorated champion.
Sareee’s debut immediately injects new energy into the Ring of Honor women’s division, which is currently dominated by champion Athena. With Athena holding an open challenge for her title leading into the Final Battle pay-per-view in December, Sareee’s arrival presents a credible and exciting new challenger for the championship.
