At a tip-off event at Ocean Casino Resort on Tuesday, MAAC Commissioner Travis Tellitocci confirmed that 24 arenas from Boston to Philadelphia are vying to host the tournament in 2027-29. A final decision is expected this winter.
Tuesday’s event included the announcement of the conference’s preseason favorites and players of the year. During the press event, many players and coaches spoke favorably of their experiences in the resort.
“It belongs in Atlantic City. We feel very comfortable and confident that it will continue to be here. The community has embraced it, and the primetime finals format gives the women’s game a great platform.”
