Rishab Shetty’s Kantara Chapter 1 has been released and is getting an overwhelming response from the audience. Jr NTR has also extended his heartfelt congratulations to the team following the film’s resounding success at the box office. The actor took to social media to appreciate Rishab Shetty’s work, praising him for excelling both in front of and behind the camera.
Taking to his X handle, Jr NTR wrote, ‘Congratulations to the team of #KantaraChapter1 on scoring a resounding success. @shetty_rishab sir pulled off the unthinkable by excelling both as a mindblowing actor and a brilliant director. Rishab Shetty On Acting-Directing Kantara Chapter 1
During the recent trailer launch of his movie, Rishab Shetty opened up about dual challenge of starring and directing Kantara Chapter 2. “In some action sequences I was performing, and at the same time, in the background, there were issues,” he recalled. “Immediately, I would grab the mic, go to a height and talk to the artists. It used to switch immediately between actor and director. But the character I play is also like that — so it felt organic,” he said.
What Does Kantara Chapter 1 Revolve Around?
Kantara: Chapter 1 is set in the Kadamba period in Karnataka. The Kadambas were significant rulers of parts of Karnataka and played a major role in shaping the architecture and culture of the region. That period was known to be a Golden Period of Indian History.
It was in 2023 that Shetty announced that what the audiences saw was actually part 2 and therefore what will be released next will be Kantara’s prequel. “We are very pleased and thankful to the audience who had shown immense love and support to Kantara and taking the journey ahead, with the blessing of almighty Daiva the film has successfully completed 100 days and I would like to take this opportunity to announce the prequel of Kantara. What you have seen is actually Part 2, Part 1 will come next year,” he had said.

The actor was recently seen in the spy action thriller, War 2, along with Hrithik Roshan, Anil Kapoor and Kiara Advani. Helmed by Ayan Mukerji, the film was backed by Yash Raj Films. He will be next seen in an untitled project with director Prashant Neel, known for KGF and Salaar.
