Moving in silence gives you control – Temi Ajibade on privacy

Actress and fashion entrepreneur Temi Otedola, now Temi Ajibade after her marriage to singer Mr Eazi, has shed light on why she values keeping certain aspects of her life private until she is ready to share them publicly.

Temi was asked why she and Mr Eazi maintained a low profile throughout their courtship, engagement, and marriage, only sharing details when they chose to.

She explained that for her, it is less about secrecy and more about self-determination.

“It’s not necessarily about privacy. I think it’s more about owning your own narrative,” she said in an interview with the BBC,

“And there’s something about, you know, moving in silence that allows you to, to have certain control over things. It allows you to, yeah, to build the narrative you want.”

Temi emphasized that choosing when and how to share is empowering.

“And also you’re able to share when you feel you’re ready to share, when you want to share and share it in the way you want to share it.

“So I think all of those things are kind of why I’ve always been someone to, to share, whether it’s a work project or personal news, I share it in my own time.”

She also touched on her father, billionaire businessman Femi Otedola’s decision to author a book, attributing it to his vast experience.

“Oh, I believe he wrote this book because obviously he has, I mean, decades of knowledge about business, about life, even about interpersonal relationships,” she said.
