Dying Light: The Beast added something the series has never had before: ranged weapons, and one of those ranged weapons is the bow. And you’ll need feathers if you want to craft the bow, arrows, and other miscellaneous tools and gear pieces. But where do you find feathers in Dying Light: The Beast?
Where to find feathers in Dying Light: The Beast
To find feathers in Dying Light: The Beast, you need to look in four specific locations:
Vanity Store Dark Zones
Dead zombies after several hours into the game
Loot buildings in and around Grove areas
Of these four, Vendors are your best bet to get feathers, though they never carry too many. They are cheap, thankfully. The vendors do restock regularly, so you could buy out their inventory, wait a few in-game days, and do it again until you have what you need.
Vanity store Dark Zones are another solid option, though depending on their size, you might find only a few feathers. They are still worth doing for the other materials you can find there, like leather and rags.
When I was playing for my review, I spent the first few hours not finding any feathers, especially after I got the bow blueprint. However, once you have a few hours and several hundred zombie kills, you should start to see more feathers when you loot their bodies.
The last place you can find feathers consistently is in abandoned buildings near groves, grassy areas out in the world. Buildings like these include safe zones and the crafting benches therein. These locations are never a guarantee for feathers, but they’re worth checking all the same.
One final note: if you spent at least a few hours not using feathers but consistently looting zombie corpses, you’re likely to build up a fair number of feathers naturally. Remember that they do go faster than you’d expect once you start using them.
