RIP Jane Goodall: DYK ICONIC Conservationist Was Subject Of More Than 40 Films?

Dame Jane Goodall, the pioneering conservationist and world-renowned expert on chimpanzees, has died at the age of 91. Her ground-breaking fieldwork not only transformed the study of animals and challenged gender barriers in science, but also revealed the emotional depth and individuality of chimpanzees. Her work helped reshape our understanding of the boundary between humans and the animal kingdom. Goodall died of natural causes in California while on a speaking tour in the United States, her institute confirmed. “Dr. Goodall’s discoveries as an ethologist revolutionized science, and she was a tireless advocate for the protection and restoration of our natural world,” the institute said in a statement on social media. The founder of the Jane Goodall Institute and the Roots & Shoots programme, she was named a United Nations Messenger of Peace and was the subject of more than 40 films.
