Jacob Elordi gives 'Frankenstein' life in new trailer

It’s officially spooky season and a new trailer for “Frankenstein” has arrived, starring Jacob Elordi as The Creature.
“My maker told his tale. And Iwill tell you mine,” Elordi ominously states in the first few seconds.
Guillermo Del Toro directs the Netflix adaptation of Mary Shelley’s groundbreaking book, hewing more closely to the original source material than most film adaptations.
Del Toro told Variety at the Venice Film festival, “The usual discourse of Frankenstein has to do with science gone awry. But for me, it’s about the human spirit. It’s not a cautionary tale: It’s about forgiveness, understanding and the importance of listening to each other.”
Elordi’s heartthrob looks are hidden by both the prosthetics and the editing in the trailer, keeping his final look as The Creature somewhat of a mystery.
Packed with striking visuals, the film also stars Oscar Isaac as Victor Frankenstein, Mia Goth as Elizabeth, fiancé to another man but admired by both Victor and The Creature, and Oscar-winner Christoph Waltz as Elizabeth’s uncle, Henrich Harlander.
“Frankenstein” has been a hit recent film festivals and is arriving in theaters October 17 for a limited run followed by its Netflix debut on November 7.
