President announces new opportunities for teachers - Qalampir.uz

President Shavkat Mirziyoyev proposed new initiatives aimed at further supporting educators during his meeting with teachers and mentors in the Bostanlik district of the Tashkent region today, September 15.

The initiatives are as follows:

Starting from the new year, high-category teachers with at least 15 years of experience will have 25 percent of their mortgage loan down payment covered;
In the upcoming academic year, a 30 percent discount will be provided on the tuition fees of children of teachers admitted to state universities;
Teachers will receive preferential loans of up to 10 million soums for purchasing computers to widely implement new educational technologies;
From next year, state service fees for teachers will be reduced by half;
A national certification system will be introduced for primary education teachers, similar to subject teachers. Those who receive the certificate will get a 15 percent monthly bonus;
Teachers who graduate with a preferential diploma at the bachelor level and join schools will automatically receive a second-grade qualification, and master’s graduates will receive a first-grade qualification;
Teachers admitted to the world’s top 300 universities will be granted preferential educational loans of up to $20,000;
For teachers from schools ranked in the top 100, kindergartens in the top 100, technical colleges in the top 20, and the top 10 universities, a 15-20 percent discount will be applied on airplane and train tickets for one annual domestic trip across Uzbekistan.

It was emphasized that the main goal of higher education reforms is to transform Uzbekistan into a regional hub for education and science. Currently, four universities are ranked among the world’s top 1,000, and their number is expected to reach ten in the coming years.

At the same time, our universities will implement joint educational programs with foreign top-500 universities in priority fields such as information technology, artificial intelligence, agrotechnology, medicine, and ’’green’’ energy. Additionally, branches of foreign universities ranked in the global top 100 will be opened.

The Central Asia International Education Forum will be held with the participation of more than ten international organizations, 500 prominent university rectors, and over 1,000 international experts next year to achieve these goals.
