An Emmerdale legend’s death might have been sealed after 22 years, as fans claim to have spotted a worrying symptom. It’s been a busy few weeks in the Dales, following the downfall of villain John Sugden (Oliver Farnworth) last month. The army medic notably killed Nate Robinson (Jurell Carter), before kidnapping Mackenzie Boyd (Lawrence Robb) and holding him hostage in an underground bunker, which was located on the grounds of his childhood home. John’s husband, Aaron Dingle (Danny Miller), eventually discovered the truth about the villain, with Robert (Ryan Hawley) soon arriving at the cottage to save his ex from his evil brother. However, in a shocking turn of events, John grabbed Aaron and threw them both off the edge of a cliff, leaving Robert speechless. While Aaron lay in an induced coma, John made his escape, before later blackmailing Caleb Miligan (William) into helping him flee the country. On Wednesday (October 1), Aaron continued to rebuild his life following John’s departure, though his mum Chas (Lucy Pargeter) was quick to share her worries. “I’m worried about you love, and before you tell me not to be, I can’t help it okay. I’m your mum,” she said. “I’m a big boy though, mum. I can look after myself,” Aaron replied, with Chas adding: “Yes, I know you can. It is your life. And yes, you are right, you should get to live it the way you want to.” Later, Aaron went to visit his ex Robert, who has yet to tell him about his secret prison husband, Kev Townsend (Chris Coghill). “What are we waiting for, Robert? We can take it slow if we want, and if I need help or I need someone to talk to, then I’ll tell you and we can sort it out together,” Aaron said as he tried to rekindle his romance with Robert. “Life is so short… Why are we wasting time when we both know what we want? I want you and I know you want to be with me as well.” After watching the episode, several Emmerdale fans were left concerned for Aaron after he forgot his late sister Grace’s birthday. Many viewers are convinced that his forgetfulness could be a sign of a brain injury, which could result in his death in upcoming scenes. “Sooo… Aaron forgets Grace’s birthday and can’t push a straw into his drink. Am I reading too much into it, or might that be related to his head injury?” one person wrote on X (formerly Twitter). Another added: “Oh, it could be. I always said that falling from the cliff would leave some consequences on his health,” while a third said: “Oh god they better not kill him off!” A fourth fan echoed the sentiment, saying: “Oh no I won’t be able to cope if they do anything to Aaron. But the signs aren’t looking good.” Emmerdale airs weeknights on ITV1 at 7.30pm and is available to stream from 7am on ITVX
