Bloomington to Celebrate Grand Openings of Bryant and Tretbaugh Parks with New Amenities

Bloomington is getting ready to cut the ribbon on two new parks, each offering unique amenities aimed at enriching the local community. Bryant Park and Tretbaugh Park are scheduled to officially open their new features to the public with grand ceremonies in the first week of October.

Bryant Park, located at 1001 W. 85th St., will unveil a diverse range of recreational spaces during its grand opening on Monday, Oct. 6, from 4:30-6 p.m. Visitors can expect to find Bloomington’s first fully inclusive playground, a new, modern park shelter, skatepark, baseball field, cricket pitch, hockey rink, and renewed courts for tennis and basketball, according to an announcement by the City of Bloomington. These additions are aimed at creating an all-embracing environment where people of all ages and abilities can participate and enjoy.

Following closely, Tretbaugh Park, situated at 3701 W. 90th St., will have its moment on Tuesday, Oct. 7, between the same hours, showcasing its new dedicated bike skills course. The course is set to include a paved track and a gravel mountain bike path, marking it as the City’s first of its kind. This initiative is part of a broader effort to cater to the cycling enthusiasts in the community and to encourage outdoor sports and fitness.

Both grand opening events are open to the public, and community members are encouraged to come and explore the new park facilities.
