New Vineland to Atlantic City shuttle service launched

VINELAND — NJ Transit has launched an express shuttle bus service between Vineland and Atlantic City to help workers get to their jobs in casinos and other businesses.
The service, which began Wednesday, is being operated by the South Jersey Transportation Authority with the support of NJ Transit.
“Today marks an important step forward as we launch this new shuttle service between Vineland and Atlantic City,” state Transportation Commissioner and NJ Transit Chair Fran O’Connor said during an event Wednesday. “This route will directly connect prospective workers to the many employment opportunities available in Atlantic City, while also filling a critical transportation need for South Jersey residents. This initiative fully supports our mission of delivering reliable transportation options for all New Jerseyans.”
The route features two express round trips each weekday, providing direct service between the Vineland Transportation Center and the Atlantic City Bus Terminal.
The state will operate a shuttle bus between Vineland and Atlantic City to help workers get to their jobs in casinos and other businesses.
“I have been fighting for better transit for our regions, and this new Vineland to Atlantic City route is the start of real investment and opportunity,” said state Sen. Michael Testa, R-Cape May, Cumberland, Atlantic. “Most importantly, it stands with the workers of our community who need reliable transportation access every day.”
The service will run a single bus on a split-shift schedule designed to align with local employer shift times. Departures from Vineland are scheduled for 5:35 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. The return trips will depart Atlantic City at 7:45 a.m. and 3:45 p.m., arriving in Vineland at 8:50 a.m. and 4:50 p.m., respectively. One-way fare is $6.
“This express shuttle helps remove a key barrier for residents seeking employment in Atlantic City by making their commute more direct and efficient,” said NJ Transit President & CEO Kris Kolluri. “It’s one important initiative NJ Transit has committed to in support of Governor Murphy’s broader plan to deliver more responsive transit service throughout South Jersey.”
