Philomath football standout announces Pac-12 commitment

One of the state’s top multipurpose players is headed to the Gem State.
On Tuesday, Philomath’s CD Nuño announced on social media that he is verbally committing to Boise State.
Last fall, Nuño had 73 catches for 1,087 yards and 13 touchdowns for Philomath. He was a first team all-Oregon West Conference selection as a receiver and a second team selection as a defensive back. He was also a first team all-state selection at wide receiver.
Listed as a 6-foot-3, 205 pound athlete, Nuño is considered a three-star athlete by 247Sports — which lists him as the No. 7 recruit in Oregon’s 2026 graduating class.

Philomath finished the season with an 8-3 record and went 3-2 in the Oregon West Conference last year. The team fell 21-14 to Henley in the Class 4A state quarterfinals.
This fall, Philomath is 3-1 on the season and looks like a potential contender in Class 4A.
Nuño is also a standout in track and field, finishing seventh in the Class 4A state championships in the 200-meter dash. He was a leg of Philomath’s 4×100-meter relay team and the 4×400-meter relay team that both finished eighth in the state championships last year.
