MUSKEGON, MI — A new, independently owned retail shipping store is serving Muskegon customers with 25% or more off standard rates.
Partners Sarah Hickey and Chitin Proctor on Wednesday, Oct. 1, announced the grand opening of Muskegon Shipping at 851 W. Laketon Ave, Suite B.
It is the couple’s first business venture together, but the second for Proctor. During the COVID-19 pandemic, he founded Last Mile Game Logistics, a third-party logistics provider dedicated to helping small tabletop game publishers affordably import and export their products.
“We were about a year into COVID, and my kids’ school was still remote, and I needed something to do,” Proctor said in an email to MLive/the Muskegon Chronicle. “I’d been doing some freelance writing and editing work for a few U.K.-based publishers and game designers when the matter of crowdfunding fulfillment came up. With that, my first company, Last Mile Game Logistics, came about.”
Last year, LMG Logistics handled over $100,000 in imports and mailed out over 10,000 parcels to clients’ customers in the U.S., but the company was hit hard by President Donald Trump’s tariffs in early 2025.
“Since January of this year, we’ve exported 10 times as many pallets as we’ve imported and only had two small fulfillment jobs,” Proctor said. “So, when the space came up for lease, it was rather obvious to us that we needed to do something with it.”
Muskegon Shipping provides a much broader suite of services for any customer’s needs, including packing, shipping, printing, copying and notary.
The company ships domestically with UPS and USPS at 25% or more off most published rates. It offers international shipping and freight services through FedEx, also below published rates.
“Because we don’t have huge overhead costs, we are able to provide our services at a low rate,” Hickey said.
Regular hours are 8 a.m.-6 p.m., Monday through Saturday.
