Inclusive Policy Fellowship-Plus (IPF+) is open for applications!

Future Forum is now accepting applications for the Inclusive Policy Fellowship-Plus (IPF+).

The expansion, titled as Inclusive Policy Fellowship-Plus (IPF+), will select a cohort of 10 young researchers (female and LGBTQ+ only) to serve as Junior Research Fellow or Research Fellow for a five-month Inclusive Policy Fellowship PLUS (IPF+) that aims to empower young female researchers and young researchers identified themselves with the LGBTQ+ identities and backgrounds in pursuing innovative and creative policy research.

Each fellow will be required to produce a total of three policy commentaries that provide concrete and practical solutions to any gender-related policy problem. All approved articles will be published in credible English-language news publications both inside and outside Cambodia. They will also be combined into the Future Forum’s flagship Big Book of Small Idea to be launched by February 2026.

+ Personalized policy research coaching and mentorship as well as constant editorial support from a dynamic team of competent and experienced advisers;

+ Full membership access to the Future Forum’s Research Hub (Thormatrai Library, Co-Learning Space, Meeting Rooms and Academic Database) and other knowledge infrastructure available;

+ Being an important part of the Future Forum’s broader Community of Researchers among a diverse professional network and opportunities to attend enriching Researcher Networking Event;

+ Competitive financial remuneration for policy research outputs (policy commentaries and policy snapshots);

+ Becoming an author in the combined volume of Big Book of Small Idea to be published and launched in February 2026 under gender policies-related themes;

+ Becoming a speaker in the Future Forum’s visual digital outputs, including Small Idea video series, Horizon podcast and Public Lecture;

+ Opportunities to attend or speak in public events in representation of the Future Forum both inside and outside Cambodia.

As a fellow in the IPF+, you are asked to contribute with the following responsibilities:

+ Active participation in a one-day program kickoff to engage in the exciting orientation of the fellowship. Attendance in person is required; all expenses including meals, transportation and accommodation (if any) will be covered;

+ Active in-person participation in the biweekly Ideation-Editorial Meeting to discuss policies systematically and ideate initiatives and proposals through design thinking;

+ Active in-person participation in the Monthly Refresher Trainings and Research HelpDesk office hours on 1) Policy Analysis 2) Research Methodology 3) Data Analysis and Presentation 4) Policy Communication and Advocacy;

+ Satisfactory completion of the required written reflections and other program assignments; Development of an independent policy research project (policy snapshot and commentary) based on an area of interest (written in English);

+ Active participation in the Future Forum’s other events for its Community of Researchers, including research colloquium, researcher networking event, film screening, public lectures, and policy walk activities.

Who We Are Looking For:

The Future Forum is looking for Junior Research Fellows and Research Fellows who are:

+ female or self-identified within the LGBTQ+ communities;

+ aged between 22 and 35;

+ strong command of English as a working language of this fellowship;

+ studying or researching as policy area of interest in one of the following or related fields: “gender and demographic policy”, “foreign policy”, “defense policy”, “fiscal policy”, “climate policy”, “water governance and politics”, and “cyberspace governance and politics”;

+ a graduate with a minimum education level of bachelor’s degree or a senior in any undergraduate program;

+ well-versed knowledge and previous experience in empirical research, policy research, and/or strategic foresight;

+ highly capable of undertaking independent research and work;

+ Current fellows in the Inclusive Policy Fellowship with special areas of policy interest related to gender equality, disabilities, and social inclusion, will be prioritized.
