Strictly Come Dancing’s Chris McCausland has said ‘we will try’ as the future of his and Dianne Buswell podcast was confirmed. The blind comedian and professional dancer met last year when they were paired together on the BBC dancing competition. Following months of showcasing their skills, Chris and Dianne beat Sarah Hadland and Vito Coppola , JB Gill and Lauren Oakley, and Tasha Ghouri and Aljaz Skorjanec in the final to take home the Glitterball Trophy. Despite both of their hectic schedules, Chris and Dianne have remained close friends, even launching their very own podcast together, titled Winning Isn’t Everything. The podcast’s synopsis reads: “Join Chris and Dianne for their chaotic weekly catch up – talking wins, fails, life and nonsense. Dianne wants to understand the world a bit more, Chris just wants to moan about it. “They might even answer some listener questions if they can get around to it… They really want this podcast to be a success, but winning isn’t everything!” Just days after the pair reunited on Strictly ’s launch episode last month to recreate their BAFTA TV winning routine, the podcast’s future was thrown up in the air. Replying to a fan who said the podcast ‘can’t end’, Chris wrote on X, previously known as Twitter : “It’s a possibility. At the minute it doesn’t look like Dianne will be allowed to do it through Strictly.” Chris was by a separate fan on Monday (September 29) about why other contestant’s are continuing their podcasts, as he replied: “The contestants have different contracts that the dancers who are in full-time employment throughout the show.” However, returning to his account on Tuesday evening (September 30), Chris was happy to report that the podcast isn’t going anywhere. “Good news, as #WinningIsntEverything will be continuing. Due to timeframe and schedules though we will not have one out on Thursday morning, but we will try to get one out later that day. Thanks to everyone that listens,” he wrote. The comments section of his post saw fans expressing their joy that he and Dianne will be back together behind the mics. @CharisA80836 said: “Thank god!!! The laughs are getting me through 4 months of travelling to work misery whilst a large local roundabout is repaired by approx 4 men – 3 who move cones about and one who is always on the phone!” @Scooby_Who added: “Fantastic news!!! Every moment of you and Di is unbelievably beneficial to the mental health.” @Bexybexxo wrote: “Thank you for letting us know Chris! There’s so many more of us out there than the 12 plus Ross and Becky!! look forward to its release.” @firstclassmale posted: “Great news. I love my Thursday hour of nonsense.” @chuckles33 commented: “That is brilliant news… thanks for letting us know Chris I would say that I can’t wait….. but it will be worth the wait!!” @spotteq stated: “Great news!!! More nonsense is all we need. I’ll be listening to reruns til the next one arrives.”
