Season 6 of the program premieres on Foxtel and BINGE on Wednesday night with renowned real-estate expert Andrew Winter and respected design guru Neale Whitaker back for the new season.
As always, the duo make their pitch to 10 Aussie families stuck in a real estate deadlock, pleading with them to either renovate or relocate.
To stay or sell is the dilemma these homeowners face – and Winter and Whitaker are ready to impart their sage advice.
“The rivalry between ‘Team Love It” and ‘Team List It’ is as intense as ever!” says Winter, who firmly favours selling. “Neale’s highly competitive and has resorted to what I would call ‘cheating’ this season, bringing in so-called friends and doing whatever it takes to try and secure a win.”
“Plus ‘Team List It’ is battling with one of the toughest Australian buying markets in years. With so few homes for sale to tempt my team. It’s a tough sell.”
As for Whitaker, he believes all’s fair in love and listings. The competition is indeed taken up a notch when Whitaker calls on Selling Houses Australia’s landscape expert Dennis Scott to help tackle an exterior design challenge in one episode.
“I don’t recall anything in the Love It Or List It rule book that says you can’t call in other experts to help – especially when that expert is Dennis,” Whitaker said.
“He’s family! I think Andrew’s feeling a bit threatened. Not surprising really, when you look at the amazing renovations in our brand new season. They’re easily the best yet, providing life-changing solutions for our homeowners across Australia.”
This season sees the duo help solve 10 new dilemmas ranging from a beach shack on the Gold Coast to a luxurious mansion in an elite Sydney suburb.
Team Love It delivers by helping breathe new life into a 120-year-old terrace, while creating a sanctuary for Queensland Paramedics and making one of the most dysfunctional properties liveable again.
Meanwhile, under Winter’s expert guidance, Team List It takes on the competitive Northern NSW property market, zones in on the hot market in Adelaide, and tries to tempt a sporty family to make a sea-change.
It remains to be seen if the owners decide to love it and renovate, or list it and relocate, but one thing’s guaranteed: this season is gearing up to be epic.
Love It Or List It Australia Season 6 premieres on Foxtel’s LifeStyle channel October 1, also streaming on BINGE. The series will premiere at 8.30pm AEST with new episodes airing weekly. Catch up on the previous seasons now, available on BINGE
