Commuters are being warned of travel chaos on the M74 as the busy motorway is closed following a crash.
Emergency services were called to the northbound carriageway near junction 7 (Larkhall) after the alarm was raised at around 10.35am on Wednesday, September 10.
Officers say the crash involved a car and a motorbike. It is understood that the biker was taken to hospital for treatment.
Their condition is unknown. Motorists are advised to please avoid the area if possible.
A spokesperson for Police Scotland said: “The M74 is closed northbound at junction 7 due to a crash involving a car and a motorbike, which was reported around 10.35am on Wednesday, 10 September, 2025.
“Emergency services are in attendance and the rider of motorcycle has been taken to hospital for treatment. Enquiries are ongoing.”
Traffic Scotland wrote on social media: “Drivers are being advised to expect delays on surrounding routes and allow for extra time in their journeys.”
