Newmains & St Brigid’s Community Hub will a Scottish singing legend in October. Join Artie’s Singing Kettle “Halloween” show for a spooktacular extravaganza at the Hub on Sunday, October 12, with show kicking off at 11am and 1.30pm. Bring your Halloween spirit and don your most creative costume for a show bursting with magic and merriment. This year, solve brand new spooky Singing Kettle mysteries, and sing along with favourites like “Bunny Fou Fou”, “The Ghost Hunt”, and the hilarious “Ye Cannae Shove Yer Granny Aff the Bus.” Celebrate the season with fun that’s enchanting for kids and entertaining for adults. The Singing Kettle was formed sometime in the 1980s by Cilla Fisher and Artie Trezise. Very soon they were joined by Gary Coupland and the three stalwarts were the backbone of the company for over 30 years. BAFTA award winning and decorated with MBEs for services to children’s entertainment, audiences worldwide were hooked on their madcap musical adventures flavoured with cheeky Scottish humour. Adults and children alike found themselves singing the songs together long after the performances were over. The company closed in 2015, with the final line-up forming “Fun Box” and with Cilla retiring. Artie continued performing solo shows as “Artie’s Tartan Tales” but since the beginning of 2020 his show is now “Artie’s Singing Kettle”. Many fans have welcomed this resurrection by someone know to audiences as “Artie from the Singing Kettle”. Tickets cost £12 and are available online from www.spotlightshotts.org and from the community hub office. *Don’t miss the latest headlines from around Lanarkshire. Sign up to our newsletters here .
