    Apple set to release brand new iPhone update with Liquid Glass

    Apple first showcased its brand-new operating system, iOS 26, back in June. Now, the exact release date for this update has been confirmed for compatible iPhones.

    The American tech giant has just announced that iOS 26 will be available globally from 15 September 2025, meaning there are only a few days left to wait. While Apple never reveals a specific time, based on past releases, Express.co.uk predicts it will become available in the settings menu at around 6pm BST.

    Once installed, iOS 26 introduces many new features and a revamped look called Liquid Glass. As the name suggests, this gives everything a glossy appearance, as if you’re looking through… well, glass.

    The lock screen also gets an upgrade with this release, becoming more interactive. The beloved clock will fluidly adapt to the available space on the display, changing depending on the image and incoming notifications, reports the Express.

    Spatial scenes can also be added in the Photos app, bringing wallpapers to life with a clever 3D effect when users move their iPhone. Moreover, some smart changes are coming to phones.

    If you’re fed up with those annoying cold calls, then iOS 26 is worth installing. Apple has introduced a new feature in this update called Call Screening, which prevents unknown numbers from bothering you until the caller confirms their identity.

    There’s also a bit of good news for those who travel frequently. iOS 26 will translate both calls and texts in real time, allowing you to hear and see exactly what is being said. Another welcome upgrade is coming to Messages in iOS 26. The update brings enhancements to conversations, including custom backgrounds and the ability to create instant polls in group chats.
