Fabian Hurzeler has explained he’s content at Brighton, despite growing rumours that he could replace Ruben Amorim at Manchester United . The Red Devils have had a dismal start to the season, losing three of their first six matches. Poor performances has sparked speculation that Amorim’s position may be in jeopardy, with several potential successors being linked with the club. Among those named is Hurzeler, who has been lauded for his impressive work at the Amex Stadium. When questioned about a possible move to Old Trafford , the German insisted that he is satisfied with life on the South Coast and declined to comment on the mounting pressure on Amorim. He told Sky Sports : “Tough decisions and rumours are always part of this job so you have to accept it, you have to deal with it, but I really want to say that I have a lot of respect for Ruben Amorim so I won’t talk about his job or any rumours that might come regarding him. “I’m really privileged to be a coach for Brighton and Hove Albion, I’m very happy here and we still have a lot of work to do.” Hurzeler isn’t the only Premier League manager linked with a move to United either. Crystal Palace’s Oliver Glasner is also considered a potential candidate following an exceptional tenure with the Eagles. And like his counterpart, the Austrian isn’t giving much thought to the speculation. He said: “I follow all the rumours – and that’s all there is – neutrally and completely relaxed. Focusing on the daily work with my players and coaches, and trying to enjoy it as much as possible.” Amorim’s tenure could face a new twist this weekend as the Red Devils prepare to face newly-promoted Sunderland at Old Trafford. Another loss could put the Portuguese manager under immense scrutiny. Despite this, he has insisted that he is not anxious about his role. Following the weekend’s defeat to Brentford, he said (via the Mirror ): “I am always comfortable with the job. “I am not concerned, it is not my decision. I will do the best I can every minute I am here. I am never concerned about my job, I am not that kind of guy. “I’m always doing my job. If I win, I’m in a different state of mind. That is normal, but I’m always confident because I know what to do. I’ve always taken a lot of responsibility on your own shoulders.” Here at the Manchester Evening News, we’re dedicated to bringing you the best Manchester United coverage and analysis.
