Mayor Eric Escobedo, accompanied by Councilor for Works & Maintenance, Gerardo Lara, visited the area to oversee the work.
The new section will be approximately 275 meters long, stretching from Calle Señor de la Expiración, near the Los Faroles bar, to the intersection with Calle ParaÃso.
Mayor Eric Escobedo emphasised the importance of this new development, which “frees up parking and pedestrian paths, which are essential for our residents, and will also improve accessibility to the other part of Lanjarón’s main road (A-348).
Public Works Councillor, Gerardo Lara, added that they would try to create about ten new parking spaces in this new section with improved street lighting.
The Lanjarón Paseo Biosaludable began in 2021 with the aim of creating an accessible and enjoyable route for residents and tourists, connecting different areas of the municipality and promoting healthy lifestyle habits. Since then, the Town Hall has created several phases that have allowed the route to be progressively expanded.
Who is paying for this? Well, the Central Government through its PFEA Especial grant, as well as the Junta de AndalucÃa, the Provincial Council and the town coffers themselves. There was also some EU funding thrown in.
