Pete Hegseth 'crawling out of skin' after Charlie Kirk assassination? His explosive tantrums and erratic behaviour exposed

Since the assassination of Charlie Kirk, a close ally of US President Donald Trump, on September 10, Pete Hegseth has appeared particularly anxious.

US Secretary of War Pete Hegseth is reportedly “crawling out of his skin” in fear of being assassinated in the wake of the shooting of Charlie Kirk, an American right-wing conservative political analyst who was shot dead on September. Hegseth’s staff has described him as “manic”, frequently erupting into furious rants, according to Daily Mail. Insiders in Pete Hegseth’s newly named Department of War said that their boss has in the last few weeks been erupting in tirades, raging at staffers and obsessing about matters related to his security.”There’s a manic quality about him. Or let me rephrase, an even more manic quality, which is really saying something,” one insider told the outlet. The insiders have described Hegseth Hegseth as visibly distracted, fidgeting and even standing up and pacing during meetings. ‘Dude is crawling out of his skin,’ said the other.ALSO READ: Jason Taylor and wife’s embarrassing ‘Coldplay moment’ on Monday Night Football broadcast goes viralPete Hegseth’s explosive tantrums and erratic behaviourTwo of the former Fox News host’s staffers told The Daily Mail that their boss’s behaviour had worsened after Kirk was killed earlier this month in Utah. His department has recently threatened to yank media credentials from journalists who refuse to sign pledges that they will only publish information that it sanctions for public release.Live EventsThe report claims that Pete Hegseth has become “obsessed” with his own security. According to the Mail, the Army’s Criminal Investigation Division (CID) has removed agents from their posts to safeguard Hegseth’s homes in Minnesota, Tennessee, and Washington, D.C.The source said that his alleged erratic behavior is even affecting his policy decisions, including Hegseth’s order that every military official above the rank of one-star general must fly to Virginia for a meeting. The mysterious and sudden gathering has sparked furry among the top-ranking officials with one of them comparing it to the dystopian TV show Squid Game and fearing for their jobs.ALSO READ: Charlie Javice, who once ranked in Forbes list, defrauded America’s largest bank JPMorgan Chase of $175 millionHowever, one source said that, behind closed doors, Hegseth is nervous. “That warrior persona, he’s spooked,” the source said.According to The Washington Post, Hegseth plans to lecture generals in person about embracing more of a ‘warrior ethos’ — a dedication not just to fighting wars, but winning them, with an emphasis on lethality. Hegseth also insisted on pushing through the Department of Defense’s name change to the Department of War months earlier than his staff was ready, berating those who tried to delay the announcement.Pete Hegseth panicked for his security?Since the assassination of Charlie Kirk, a close ally of US President Donald Trump, on September 10, Pete Hegseth has appeared particularly anxious. While some degree of concern is understandable for any high-profile figure during a period of political violence, an insider described the secretary as “paranoid” and “panicked” about his personal safety, even though he is one of the most heavily protected members of the cabinet.ALSO READ: Tyreek Hill injury’s viral video: Dolphins star’s bizarre reaction after horrific knee incident leaves him hospitalizedThe source added that Hegseth’s fears are being amplified by his wife, Jennifer, whose recent requests for enhanced security for him, their family, and their homes reportedly exceed the precautions afforded to other Trump administration officials.Jennifer Rauchet Hegseth, a Fox News alumnus like her husband, faced massive criticism when it was revealed that she was looped in on group messages about sensitive military details of a US strike on Houthi rebels in Yemen before it started in March. Pentagon staff nicknamed her ‘Yoko Ono’ for her attendance at Pentagon meetings and outsized involvement in her husband’s job overseeing the nearly three million-strong United States military. That, one of the insiders told The Daily Mail, is largely why the assassination of Kirk, a like-minded Christian conservative, ‘struck such a nerve’ for them both. ‘She fears Pete’s a target,’ one of the insiders said of Jennifer.Add as a Reliable and Trusted News Source Add Now!
