Donald Trump’s state visit to the UK this week will see the US President guarded by an army of drones. After Trump’s key political ally Charlie Kirk was assassinated last week, fears of copycat political violence have been sparked. Reports suggest Windsor Castle will be policed from the sky by 55 drones in a round-the-clock security campaign to rival the King’s Coronation two years ago. King Charles is set to host the US President and First Lady Melania for two days from Tuesday. The Orange Manbaby and wifey will be given a slap up feast and a ceremonial welcome when they touch down tomorrow. But choking on something during the State Banquet seems to be the least of Trump’s issues. Former head of the National Counter Terrorism Security Office Chris Phillips said the biggest risk to Trump is a close quarters attack, rather than a sniper from long range like Kirk’s death. Phillips even stressed a drone carrying a bomb could be a possibility. Phillips said: “We don’t have a gun culture, but there are firearms here. Flags will be used to block high points to stop a sniper attack like the one on Charlie Kirk and the assassination attempt on Mr Trump himself last year. “Drones present a new risk and police will have anti-drone guns in case of one being used for a bomb attack. This President is disliked by so many people, there are bound to be demonstrations against him and that will create an extra difficulty for police. “Make no mistake, the threat against Mr Trump is very real. The threat of assassination will be lower in the UK, but there is still a threat.” Yesterday police were seen scouring drains close to Windsor Castle, while erecting barricades along the Long Walk in preparation for Trump’s arrivals. Windsor’s streets heavily featured Stars and Stripes flags alongside Union Jacks in a show of unity. It comes a week after Trump’s personal friend – right wing activist Charlie Kirk – was shot at Utah Valley university while addressing the audience. Trump said he was “filled with grief and anger” at his friend’s killing and will be attending his funeral on September 21. While discussing mass shootings as part of his American Comeback tour – where he would debate Liberal students – Kirk, 31, was hit by a bullet that was fired from a building 200 yards away on the campus. Shocked fans screamed and chaos ensued. Two days later police arrested 22-year-old Tyler Robinson, who they allege to be the main suspect in the killing.
