Adani Group owned Navi Mumbai International Airport on Tuesday received its Aerodrome License from Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA). This certification permits an airport to commence operations after meeting all safety and regulatory standards. “With this, we are one step closer to connecting Navi Mumbai to the world,” the airport said in a statement.Air India, Akasa Air and IndiGo have partnered with Adani Airport Holdings Ltd. to operate flights from the Navi Mumbai International Airport (NMIA).Of these major airlines, IndiGo will be the first airline to commence commercial flight operations from NMIA with over 18 daily departures (36 ATMs) to over 15 cities from the first day of commencement. Air India will commence its operations at NMIA with 20 daily flights in Phase 1, connecting 15 cities across India. The airport also features India’s first fully automated cargo terminal and farm-to-flight perishable corridors to a unique sea–air synergy with Jawaharlal Nehru Port Trust (JNPT).
