Giants Add 'Highly Athletic' Prospect to Help Jaxson Dart in Latest 2026 NFL Mock Draft

After the New York Giants upset the Los Angeles Chargers on Sunday, G-Men faithful may be more willing to hold off looking towards the upcoming NFL Draft in September.
Yet, one NFL Draft Analyst does see the organization building around franchise QB Jaxson Dart in round one of the upcoming 2026 NFL Draft.
New York Giants Select Utah OT Caleb Lomu in Recent NFL Mock Draft
Ian Cummings of Pro Football Sports Network feels like most NFL fans do… It is never too early to start thinking about next year’s NFL Draft.
Fortunately for us football fans, Cummings dropped a mammoth seven-round 2026 NFL Mock Draft earlier this week — where he had the New York Giants prioritizing the line in front of Jaxson Dart by selecting Utah OT Caleb Lomu in round one.
Cummings wrote, “Compared to last year’s offensive tackle class, the 2026 NFL Draft group represents a visible step downward. Armand Membou was a blue-chip prospect for me, and Will Campbell was close. Caleb Lomu, my current OT1, only carries a mid-first-round grade.”
Despite Jaxson Dart pulling off an improbable 21-18 upset against the previously unbeaten Los Angeles Chargers on Sunday, the rookie quarterback was sacked six times.
Prior to Dart taking over under center, Russell Wilson was pressured on 33 occasions — which still ranks as third-most in the league despite starting just three games this season.
Ironically enough, the offensive line still has two recent first-round picks on the active roster.
There is Andrew Thomas, who has finally returned at left tackle and has been effective while working his way back from injury.
And there is Evan Neal, who isn’t seeing the field for a struggling offensive line.
Other regular contributors right now include Jermaine Elumanor, Greg Van Roten, and John Michael Schmitz Jr. — all of which have seen their fair share of struggles in 2025.
In other words, the offensive line is something that can’t go unaddressed this upcoming offseason.
Cummings added, “Nevertheless, Lomu is still a quality player who should have a successful starting career. Thanks to his hyper-elite flexibility and controlled lean, he’s highly athletic and composed in situations of imbalance. He’s also a precise, uncompromising hand-fighter and stable in the run game.”
Other Players Selected in this 2026 NFL Mock Draft
If you thought Cummings was done addressing the offensive line in this 2026 NFL Mock Draft, then you would be incorrect.
Cummings sees the Giants needing to triple down on the offensive line unit by having New York spend their first selections to bolster the unit up front.
First, Cummings mocked OG Chase Bistontis from Texas A&M at No. 36 overall to help anchor the interior of the offensive line and followed it up a couple picks later by selecting Oregon OL Isaiah World at No. 38 overall.
