Indianapolis Colts Named 'Real Deal' After Week 4 Loss

Despite suffering their first loss of the season, the Indianapolis Colts were able to put on a good showing in the Week 4 loss against the Los Angeles Rams.
Quarterback Daniel Jones put up 262 passing yards on the Rams‘ defense in Week 4, the most LA has allowed this season — Jones finished the game with two interceptions and one touchdown pass.
Indy’s defense was able to sack Rams‘ quarterback Matthew Stafford three times and get 9 more hits on him in the game.
Indianapolis was tied with Los Angeles in the final minutes of the game before losing on an 88-yard touchdown pass with only 10 defenders on the field. The Colts were able to impress in the one-possession loss to LA.
A sports host and former Super Bowl winner hosted a segment called “Real Deal or Fool’s Gold” and gave their impressions on Indy after four weeks.
Indianapolis Colts Are The Real Deal
Pro Football Talk’s Mike Florio and former Super Bowl winner Devin McCourty discussed whether the Colts are a contender or pretender, with both agreeing that the team is a legitimate contender.
“This is the real deal,” the three-time Super Bowl winner said of Indy. I think the way the Colts have been playing, and even though they lost last week, they went toe-to-toe with the Rams.
The Rams are a team that everyone can see possibly being a Super Bowl contender out of the NFC… The way that they’ve built this, I think the weapons they have on offense, the way Shane Steichen calls the offensive game plan with Daniel Jones, they’re gonna get better and better of knowing exactly what they want to do together.”
McCourty suggests that one can argue that Indianapolis and the Jacksonville Jaguars are the two best teams in the AFC South, as both have a 3-1 record.
Mike Florio also calls Indianapolis the real deal, mentioning that even though the team lost, they were able to climb the power rankings entering Week 5.
Looking Towards Week 5
The Indianapolis Colts will look to get back on the win column in Week 5 against the Las Vegas Raiders.
The Colts had a couple of mistakes in the loss against the Rams and aim to clean them up before the next game.
Indy has the 26th hardest strength of schedule before the start of the season and could pick up some more wins that would get them into the playoffs.
