Doha, September 30 (QNA) – The Qatari Forum for Authors, affiliated with the Ministry of Culture, organized the Qatari-Chinese Copyright Seminar Tuesday, with the participation of 24 Qatari publishing houses and four Chinese publishing houses, along with the China International Book Trading Corporation, Peking University Press, Zhejiang University Press, and China Architecture Publishing and Media Corporation.
In their speeches, the participants reviewed various experiences in the field of publishing and intellectual property rights, as well as the challenges and opportunities associated with the printing and publishing sector in light of rapid digital transformations. Qatari and Chinese publishing houses presented practical examples of their successful experiences in this field.
The sessions also included interventions from Peking University Press and Zhejiang University, which highlighted mechanisms for developing academic and cultural cooperation with the State of Qatar and Arab countries.
The seminar concluded with a discussion that covered a range of topics, most notably: how to address the challenges of cultural adaptation in cross-border content licensing; the latest copyright trends in the digital world (e-books, audiobooks, and popular digital content in Arab markets); and the most appropriate framework for activating joint cooperation between Qatar and China in the field of copyright and export needs.
It also reviewed successful examples of cooperation between China and Arab countries.
The importance of highlighting global experiences gained from international partnerships in this sector was also highlighted.
This seminar represents an important step in strengthening cultural cooperation between Qatar and China and exchanging expertise and experiences in the field of copyright and printing, contributing to the development of the publishing industry. (QNA)
