Natalie Cassidy has revealed a “very big fear” she’s developed after an uncomfortable incident whilst appearing on This Morning . Speaking on her podcast, Life with Nat, the EastEnders star recounted being asked to take part in the ITV daytime programme during Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby’s tenure as presenters . Her task was to “report” from the news hub, but the experience ultimately “did not leave a nice taste” in her mouth. Indeed, Natalie , who claimed she got “shoved in a room” as part of the role, even admitted that she had “failed miserably”. To make matters worse, Natalie ( who’s now left the BBC soap ) revealed the cringeworthy moment has stayed with her ever since, leaving her with a lasting phobia of a key element of live broadcasting. She explained: “Anyway, I was very pleased with myself because you know what I’m like, and listeners may not understand, but if you listen to the pod, you will know that years ago, I had a bit of an odd experience on This Morning in the news hub.” The soap legend added: “And I was given an earpiece, and I got shoved in a room, and I failed miserably, so I have a very, very big fear of earpieces on live television because of that.” Describing the chaotic scene, she revealed how she was thrust into the hub without any preparation or rehearsal time. Natalie explained she found herself in the room equipped with an earpiece and monitors, as she faced “loads of people” all speaking to her at once. The soap star continued: “They threw to me, and I just did not know what to do. It was like a Partridge gone wrong, and I just stood there.” In other developments, Natalie recently revealed to her followers that her “wish came true” as she updated them on her career moves. Following her announcement earlier this year that she’d be departing EastEnders, Natalie has since featured on Channel 4 ‘s What’s The Big Deal: Britain’s Best Buys? and appeared on a Virgin Radio UK programme. Meanwhile, Natalie triumphed in Cooking with the Stars, the show presented by Emma Willis and Tom Allen, fending off stiff competition from Kelly Hoppen and Jack Osbourne to claim the prized golden frying pan trophy. Following the finale, Natalie posted a collection of images from her time on the programme, including a photograph featuring her daughter, Joanie, and fiancé Marc Humphreys, alongside her winning trophy. Natalie wrote in the caption: “WHAT CAN I POSSIBLY SAY? ! ? ! A lot actually. So when I saw cooking with the stars on the telly years ago, I thought- ooooh, it’s sponsored by @marksandspencerfood – I would LOVE to do that. “Then the years have gone by and I have not been free. Suddenly I found myself free and the offer of this show came up. “I said to @scott.mitchell3 (my agent and dear friend) I HAVE TO DO THIS! My wish came true.” You can next catch Natalie in The Great British Bake Off: An Extra Slice on Friday on September 19, from 8pm to 9pm
