EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (WEAU) - Early childhood education is a tough business. That is why an area non-profit is working to help out where it can. About a couple hundred early childhood professionals came to Eau Claire for the 9th Early Learning Conference. Western Dairyland provides professionals with resources and networking opportunities. The goal of the event is to raise morale among those helping shape Wisconsin’s future. “Being a child care professional is a hard job. On average, they’re making maybe 15 bucks an hour, oftentimes much less than that,” said Becca Elbert. “We need to do everything we can to advocate for the importance and for funding for early childhood and to really take the time to appreciate those caregivers that are helping raise your kids every day.” Here is a link to the Childcare Partnership website.
