Cats go head-to-head In Burtonsville, the Paint Branch Panthers (6-1) are getting set to battle the Blake Bengals (5-2). Not much separates the two teams on the football field. Behind balanced offensive attacks and fierce defenses, both have blown through their competition this season. However, both teams have bigger goals to accomplish. They have their eyes locked on the postseason, but neither team is overlooking their opponent. The Panthers dominated the Bengals a season ago, winning 35-7. Will we see a closer result this season? Kickoff between the Panthers and Bengals is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. Battle of the Hawks Two Virginia rivals clash in Vienna, Friday night, when the James Madison Warhawks (3-4) host the South Lakes Seahawks (5-2). When the two teams met a season ago, Madison took care of business winning 35-7. However, the Warhawks have dealt with their fair share of adversity this season. A year ago, the team made a state championship appearance, losing to Oscar-Smith by just one point. The tough loss was Madison's only loss of the season, ending the year 14-1 overall. However, the Warhawks have not be able to emulate the same level of success this season. They enter Friday's matchup on a two-game losing skid, but lost both games by a combined four points. Therefore, they could easily be 5-2, like their counterparts. Head Coach Justin Counts will have his team ready to go when the Seahawks come to town. Kickoff is slated for 7:00 p.m. Other matchups where 7News will be On Your Sideline:
