76ers Announce Paul George Injury News Ahead of Magic Game

The Philadelphia 76ers are off to a solid start to their season. More news: Joel Embiid Calls Out 76ers’ Minutes Restriction Management Prior to their third game of the season on Monday, the 76ers sit with a 2-0 record and will look ot improve to 3-0 when they host the Orlando Magic for their second home game of the season. The 76ers have played good basketball to start the season, and they’ve done so without their superstar forward, Paul George. (Photo by Mitchell Leff/Getty Images) George has yet to play this season as he is still recovering from left knee surgery that he underwent in July. As game time approaches on Monday, the 76ers will once again be without George, who has been ruled out for their matchup against the Magic. With George out for this contest and beyond, the 76ers will be leaning on Jabari Walker, Justin Edwards and Adem Bona to receive expanded roles. More news: Lakers Announce Luka Doncic Replacement Following Injury News George’s next chance to suit up will be on Tuesday, the 76ers’ second night of a back-to-back, when they take on the Washington Wizards. Although George has not played this season, he was a full participant in practice last week prior to the start of the regular season. George’s time with the 76ers has been one to forget. He signed a massive four-year, $211.6 million contract in the summer of 2024. The move was viewed as a success, as many thought George was the player the 76ers needed to get over the hump. However, a year and a half later, the signing seems like a massive mistake for the 76ers. George has only played 41 games, and the times he has been on the court have not been what the 76ers or their fans expected. Last season, George averaged 16.2 points per game, which was the first time he averaged below 20 in his career since the 2012-13 season, along with 5.3 rebounds, 4.3 assists and 1.8 steals. So far, George’s time in Philadelphia has been a dud, and it wouldn’t be a surprise if they were looking to ship him out of town. Only time will tell. Because the 76ers are down so many players, they enter this contest as home underdogs at-5.5. For all the latest NBA news and rumors, head over to Newsweek Sports.
