According to a report by Sarawak Public Communications Unit (Ukas), the Skim Pembesaran Kampung (SPK) affordable housing project in Kampung Hulu Kabong has achieved 14 per cent completion as of Aug 25—8 per cent ahead of its original schedule of 6 per cent.

The project, implemented by the Land Custody and Development Authority (LCDA), involves the construction of 75 units of LCDA Sapphire 1 type houses, each with a floor area of 871.87 square feet, built using the modern and efficient Industrialised Building System (IBS) technology.

It is scheduled for completion in 2026 with an 18-month implementation period.

Meanwhile, the Kabong New Town Extension project, which commenced on April 3 this year, recorded 16 per cent completion against the planned 15 per cent. The development includes a food court housing both wet and dry markets, paved roads, concrete drains, street lighting and other support facilities.
