Whatever you prefer, there is definitely something out there for you to watch during this spooky season. With Halloween creeping around soon, we’ve ranked seven of the best spooky series from this century that you can easily stream for Halloween. However, keep in mind that these are series made earlier in the 2000s, so there are some stereotypical characters/storylines here and there. But don’t fret! From gory crime scenes to powerful spells, get ready to delve into killer shows that will keep you up at night for weeks. Discouraged over the little to no evidence that doesn’t lead to the closure of the high-profile murder cases he has been working on, Special Agent Jack Crawford recruits Will Graham, a crime professor at the FBI Academy. But there is a catch: Will is able to recreate how the crime happened in his head, allowing him to understand how the killer thinks. Because of the consequences on Will’s psyche, Crawford teams him with a renowned psychiatrist, Hannibal Lecter. Little do they know, Hannibal has a sinister secret that will end up shattering everything that they believe in. Hannibal has it all: chilling storyline, gory imagery, relatable characters…but some scenes will make you question why you started watching it in the first place. With its first episode released back in 2005, the show continued for 15 entire seasons. This series follows the lives of two brothers, Sam (Jared Padalecki) and Dean Winchester (Jensen Ackles), who continue the family business of demon hunters, and go through on an uplifting journey that will test their brotherhood, yet reveal disturbing secrets. Stream supernatural on netflix Buffy The Vampire Slayer (1997-2003) Photo: Hulu Starring iconic ’90s star Sarah Michelle Gellar, Buffy The Vampire Slayer is able to convey a wonderful rollercoaster of emotions within each episode. This series, created by Joss Whedon, focuses on the life of Buffy Anne Summers (Gellar), a teenager who was chosen to become a vampire slayer, which is a person tasked to protect the town from threats of vampires. Buffy is joined in these adventures by her mentor Rupert Giles (Anthony Stewart Head), while also enlisting the help of her new friends Willow Rosenberg (Alyson Hannigan) and Xavier Harris (Nicholas Brendon). This series focuses on the journey of teenager Scott McCall (Tyler Posey), who gets bitten by wolf Derek Hale (Tyler Hoechlin). Alongside his best friend Stiles Stilinski (Dylan O’Brien), Scott has to discover the truth behind his transformation into a werewolf, and why bizarre supernatural situations are happening in their town, Beacon Hills. Marlene King, has all that is needed for a drama series to hook you in: astounding suspense, the right dose of mystery, and mind-blowing plot twists. The series follows the story of a group of teenage friends, Spencer Hastings (Troian Bellisario), Aria Montgomery (Lucy Hale), Hanna Marin (Ashley Benson), Emily Fields (Shay Mitchell), and their leader Alison DiLaurentis (Sasha Pieterse), as their lives dramatically change after Alison’s sudden disappearance. While they try to figure out what happened to their friend, the four girls keep receiving disturbing messages from someone under the alias of ‘A’ whom seems to know all their deepest secrets. You can ask The Vampire Diaries’ Elena Gilbert (Nina Dobrev), who lives in the rustic city of Mystic Falls, Virginia. As she figures out teenage life, brothers Stefan (Paul Wesley) and Damon Salvatore (Ian Somerhalder) irrevocably fall in love with her. As if that weren’t stressful enough, she also has to deal with repeated threats to her life from other supernatural creatures. Sounds interesting, doesn’t it? Well, this is the life of the Kappa House sorority in Ryan Murphy’s Scream Queens, led by the arrogant Chanel Oberlin (Emma Roberts). Believe us, the plot that thickens with each episode…the hilarious guest stars..they will just keep you hooked till the end.
