7 Moments From Trump's Chaotic 60 Minutes Interview

Norah O'Donnell, you're the bravest among us. Hot Topic 🔥 Full coverage and conversation on Politics On Halloween, Norah O'Donnell spoke with President Donald J. Trump at Mar-a-Lago for an episode of 60 Minutes. Spooky! The episode aired on Sunday evening, and the internet got right to work picking apart some of the wildest moments (and fact-checking, of course). Here are a few of those moments: 1. There's no better place to start than the beginning of the interview. Trump sat down and immediately said "Democrats' fault" in reference to the ongoing government shutdown. "The so-called party of personal responsibility is led by a man who never takes responsibility for anything," someone replied. Let's move on to a moment you might've heard about — when Trump insisted he is better-looking than NYC mayoral candidate Zohran Mamdani. You can draw your own conclusions. Then there was when the president said the Affordable Care Act, or Obamacare, is "terrible"...but that he wouldn't put forward a healthcare plan, either. LOL. As I think O'Donnell tried to interject and say, ending the government shutdown won't magically fix the healthcare system or cost, but Trump says that if his opposing party allows the government to open, he'll "sit down with the Democrats and we'll fix it." Democrats shut down the federal government last month "to force congressional Republicans to negotiate an extension for Obamacare premium subsidies. Unless Congress reaches such a deal, millions of Americans will pay significantly more for health insurance next year — a fact that is already becoming clear as Americans receive letters from their insurance companies alerting them to the premium spikes," MSNBC wrote. Trump told O'Donnell that the stock market is up, and she pushed back, saying that the success of the stock market doesn't impact everyone because not everyone is invested in it or has a 401(K). According to Gallup, only about 6 in 10 Americans have a retirement savings plan, including joint investment with a spouse. Grocery prices, on the other hand, have definitely gone up during the second Trump administration. Average grocery prices rose 0.3% from August to September and 0.6% from July to August, "which was the biggest month-to-month jump in three years," CNN wrote. All that, and we haven't even touched the uncertainty of SNAP benefits for Americans in November. You can watch that clip here. CBS / Ronxyz00 / Via Twitter: @Ronxyz00 5. Trump said he's the "opposite" of a Nazi. "So would you say you're.... anti fascist?" this person wrote. Considering the White House's villainization of "Antifa," I think we know the answer. O'Donnell brought up Trump's escalation of deportation efforts, including oftentimes violent ICE raids, asking if he thinks they've "gone too far." Trump responded, "I think they haven't gone far enough." Trump went on to say that many of the people that ICE has deported under his purview are "murderers" and "criminals." O'Donnell pushed back with the fact that many of those people have no violent criminal record. "Is it your intent to deport people who do not have a criminal record?" O'Donnell asked. "We have to start off with a policy, and the policy has to be, you came into the country illegally, you're gonna go out. However, we've also seen, you're gonna go out, we're gonna work with you, and you're gonna come back into our country legally," Trump answered. You can watch that clip here. When she asked who, he said, "I don't want to tell you." Bro...what? You can watch that clip here. CBS / Acyn / Via Twitter: @Acyn My fellow Americans, how are we feeling about all this? Let me know in the comments.
