The Guam Power Authority has a scheduled six-hour power outage from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 17, in the Tiyan area of Barrigada.
Customers serviced by a portion of feeder P-312 will be impacted by the six-hour Sept. 17 power outage.
Crews will be conducting preventative maintenance.
Customers affected are along East Sunset Boulevard, West Sunset Boulevard (Punzalan Street), Central Avenue, First Street, Second Street, Third Street, Fourth Street, Captain Road, and surrounding areas.
Other customers affected include PCR Environmental, Island Honey Bee, TG Engineers and Corner Stone Valuation.
GPA notes that this is an ongoing project for the next few weeks. GPA line crew will be replacing wooden poles with concrete poles in this area. GPA will release an outage announcement for every scheduled occurrence.
In most cases, the job can be done with no impact to customers; however, sometimes the power needs to be shut off for crews to work safely, GPA said.
Customers with a generator are advised to make sure the main breaker is in the open position for the safety of the crew; have a plan for alternate power source for electrical medical equipment; charge all cell phones; and to minimize opening refrigerator and freezer doors during the outage.
For power emergencies, contact the GPA Power Systems Control Center Dispatch at (671) 475-1472/3/4.
