I think it’s safe to say no one expected Liam Neeson’s action thriller sequel to top the Netflix charts this weekend. “Ice Road: Vengeance,” the sequel to Neeson’s 2021 action movie “The Ice Road,” shot to the #1 spot on the Netflix top 10 movies list after landing on the streamer on September 15. It’s honestly an impressive showing for a movie that arrived with little fanfare and was mostly overlooked during its theatrical release back in June.
But now that it’s streaming, audiences can’t seem to get enough, and many are already on the hunt for what to watch next once the icy adventure wraps. If you’ve already powered through “Ice Road: Vengeance” on Netflix and are craving another adrenaline rush, here are five more action-packed thrillers you can stream right now to keep your heart pumping.

Listen, if something ain’t broke, don’t fix it. While “Exterritorial” doesn’t reinvent the wheel, it delivers where it counts with gripping action, expertly crafted tension, and a lead performance that keeps you locked in. In “The Moter,” Jennifer Lopez stars as a former U.S. military operative who’s forced out of hiding when the daughter she gave up years ago is kidnapped.
Much like “Ice Road: Vengeance,” this film packs in plenty of intense action while grounding its story in something more substantial: family. It’s that emotional connection that drives the chaos, elevating “The Mother” into more than just another shoot-’em-up thriller. If you’re craving a shot of adrenaline with heart, this one’s worth the watch.

‘Rebel Ridge’ (2024)

“Rebel Ridge” was one of 2024’s most unexpected standouts, earning a stellar 95% on Rotten Tomatoes. It’s part revenge story, part political thriller — and it hits hard. Blending high-octane action with slow-burn suspense, it delivers a gripping experience that builds tension with every scene. While its pacing might not be for everyone, it hooks you in with a steady drip of tension and suspense, and the payoff is more than worth it.
Directed by Jeremy Saulnier (“Green Room,” “Hold the Dark”), this gritty action thriller stars Aaron Pierre as Terry, a retired Marine who’s forced to unleash his inner Rambo after heading to the small town of Shelby Springs. When he rolls into town to bail out his cousin, a pair of corrupt cops run him off the road and steal his life savings. Fueled by rage and determined to seek justice, Terry teams up with a sharp-witted court clerk, Summer McBride (AnnaSophia Robb), to uncover a deep-rooted conspiracy headed by Don Johnson’s crooked police chief, Sandy Burnne.

‘Kandahar’ (2023)

Though “Kandahar” didn’t make much of a splash in theaters, Gerard Butler’s latest action-packed thriller has turned into a surprise streaming hit. Going in, I expected it to be fun but forgettable popcorn fare. Surprisingly, it’s a far more gripping ride than its middling 45% critics’ score on Rotten Tomatoes suggests. Audiences seem to agree, giving it a solid 82% on the Popcornmeter.
Butler once again proves why he’s Hollywood’s go-to action hero in this high-stakes spy thriller loosely based on real events. He stars as Tom Harris, a CIA operative whose cover is blown mid-mission while stranded in hostile Afghan territory alongside his translator (Navid Negahban). With their backs against the wall, Harris must fight his way to an extraction point in Kandahar while evading elite enemy forces and foreign intelligence agents hot on their trail.

‘Triple Frontier’ (2019)

“Triple Frontier” might just have the most star-studded crew of criminals we’ve seen since the “Ocean’s Eleven” franchise. Ben Affleck, Oscar Isaac, Pedro Pascal, Charlie Hunnam, and Garrett Hedlund gear up as former U.S. Army Delta Force operatives who reunite for a daring mission to steal $75 million in cash from a South American crime lord.
When the heist goes south, each character risks everything for a chance at fortune. And much like in “Ice Road: Vengeance,” the rugged terrain becomes a character in itself as the team fights their way through hostile territory to complete their mission. While it’s no award-winner, “Triple Frontier” is a solid choice for a weekend watch, packed with intense shootouts, a standout car chase, and just enough moral weight to leave you thinking about the true cost of greed.
