4 Reasons why Jey Uso is in John Cena’s Last Time is Now Tournament

WWE recently announced two more matches for John Cena's The Last Time is Now Tournament on the November 7 edition of SmackDown. LA Knight is set to go up against a mystery competitor next week on the blue-branded show, while Jey Uso will face The Miz.Fans had not expected the YEET Master to be part of the tournament, and it was somewhat of a surprise. However, following the announcement, here are four reasons why WWE included him in the brackets: 4. To continue to tease his heel turnUso has been quite vocal about the fact that he is doing what is best for himself. Perhaps his inclusion in the tournament could be another way of driving home that point. The Miz is currently in a feud with Carmelo Hayes, and could lose his match against Jey Uso following interference from his former tag team partner. If so, it would allow Uso to take advantage of the situation and win the match the way a heel would do, teasing the turn even more. 3. To make the upcoming rounds more unpredictableSince Uso is expected to at least make it to the quarter finals, it would make the draw more interesting and keep fans hooked. The former tag team champion has been booked quite strongly and could go deep in the tournament to make things more unpredictable. A heel turn, amidst him being part of the tournament, would shake things up even more, potentially allowing him to go up against top babyfaces such as LA Knight. 2. Jey Uso still has unfinished business with John CenaAt Money in the Bank 2025, John Cena teamed up with Logan Paul to face Cody Rhodes and Jey Uso. At the time, Cena was a heel and was a menace when it came to targeting the YEET Master. The former World Heavyweight Champion might not have forgiven Cena, despite him reverting to being a babyface. And he could make his feelings clear about the Never Seen 17 before his match against The Miz, thus explaining his spot in the Last Time is Now Tournament. 1. To keep him away from the World Heavyweight Championship picture for nowJey Uso came up short against CM Punk at Saturday Night's Main Event on November 1 for the World Heavyweight Championship. The title was vacated by Seth Rollins after suffering a legitimate shoulder injury and Uso won a battle royale on RAW to earn his shot. However, he was unable to get the job done against Punk and was visibly upset after the match. This past week on RAW, he was once again taken out by The Vision, but not before he teaed joining Paul Heyman's faction while speaking to The Oracle in the locker room. With Bron Breakker seemingly challenging CM Punk for the world title next, it makes sense to keep Jey Uso away and help him regain his momentum with a change of character. He could use his spot in the tournament to not only turn heel, but to also find alternative storylines to begin in the upcoming months.
