$4.25 Million Reconstruction Coming For Ocean City Boardwalk

The reconstruction is planned for the Boardwalk from St. Charles Place to 5th Street.
OCEAN CITY, NJ — City Council approved a $4.25 million contract for Boardwalk reconstruction at a recent meeting.
The reconstruction is set for the Boardwalk from St. Charles Place to 5th Street. Ocean City Business Administrator George Savastano said they wanted to have the project completed by April of next year.
The contract, awarded to L. Feriozzi Concrete Company, includes new decking and railing along with other improvements.
Councilman Jody Levchuk was the lone “no” vote, as he disagreed with the materials being used.
“Obviously I’m a fan of this,” Levchuk said regarding the reconstruction. “I’m not a fan of some of the materials that we’re anticipated to use.”
He did not specify what materials he was referring to. Levchuk asked if they could be changed, but due to the project’s tight schedule, that was not possible.
Levchuk suggested tabling the resolution, but it was approved in a 6-1 vote.
