A group of underage Uzbek children who were left without parental care, supervision, or found in difficult social conditions in Russia have been repatriated to Uzbekistan, the Dunyo information agency reported. The operation was carried out by a working group formed with the participation of Uzbekistan’s Embassy in Moscow, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Ministry of Health, and the National Social Protection Agency. Initially, the working group identified 16 minors in Saint Petersburg, Chelyabinsk, and Moscow who had been left without supervision or found in vulnerable circumstances. These children were returned to Uzbekistan. Additionally, assistance was provided to repatriate 19 more children from Yekaterinburg, Volgograd, Ufa, Nizhny Novgorod, Khakassia, Moscow Region, Makhachkala, and Novosibirsk who had been left without parental care. The identification of the children, preparation of the necessary documents for their return, medical examinations, and other organizational matters were carried out in cooperation with the relevant Russian authorities. Earlier, with the assistance of Uzbekistan’s Consulate General, five underage children left without parental care in Russia’s Chelyabinsk region had also been returned to Uzbekistan.
