WWE has made several releases from the company throughout 2025, which has led to new career paths for a number of stars. Interestingly, it seems that Sonya Deville is the surprising name who has opted to walk away from the business following her February release. It's hard to believe that she was part of the Women's Royal Rumble back in February, ahead of her release, and now it's being reported that she has retired. As part of Fightful Select's recent Select Answers, it was revealed that Deville is happy with the path that she is currently on, and that doesn't include wrestling. She is "effectively retired" but has also claimed that "never say never," which is the usual line in wrestling. That being said, Deville hasn't stepped back in the ring since walking away from WWE and appears to be happy exploring other avenues and career paths. Sonya Deville is a former Women's Tag Team Champion in WWE Sonya Deville came to WWE as a former Mixed Martial Artist and was able to use that throughout her run on Tough Enough before becoming a household name on the main roster. Deville won the Women's Tag Team Championships with Chelsea Green back in 2023, but she tore her ACL not long after, which forced Green to look for a new partner and Piper Niven was the one to step up. Deville never actually lost her Women's Championship, which was the only title win of her lengthy career. She spent a decade as part of the company when she was released earlier this year and it was noted that the reasoning was that they didn't believe there was anything more for her to do after 10 years. The report noted that Deville claimed it felt weird to think about wrestling anywhere else.
