31 Celebrity Marathon Runners And Their Exact Finish Times

From Ryan Reynolds To Cynthia Erivo, Here Are 31 Celebs Who’ve Completed Marathons — And Their (Shockingly Speedy) Finish Times One of these celebs ran a sub-four-hour marathon while allegedly high on LSD. Stars, they’re just like us. It was the New York City marathon on Sunday, so you know what that means: I’m oddly emotional and have a new surge of motivation to get outside and run. I love many things about major marathons: the stories, the signs, the looks. But, as a pop culture obsessive, I also like to indulge in a bit of celebrity spotting. Whether it’s NYC, Boston, London, Chicago, Berlin, or even Tokyo (hi, Harry Styles), you can bet that a handful of celebs will be out there in their finest Lycra running the marathon alongside everyone else. And, if being beautiful and talented wasn’t already enough, some of these famous folks crossed the finish line with seriously fast times, leaving me to wonder: When do they even get the time to train for this stuff? (Mr. Styles, I’m once again talking to you.) It varies a lot, but the average time it takes to complete a marathon (26.2 miles) is about 4 hours and 30 mins (more specifically, about 4:45 for women, and 4:20 for men). So, if you enjoy running, famous people, and being nosey like me, here’s a list of celebs who’ve run marathons over the years and what their times were (prepare to be shocked). First up, here are the folks who ran the NYC Marathon this year... 1. Anthony Ramos finished his hometown race with a time of 4:44:31. 2. Oliver Phelps, who played George Weasley in the Harry Potter films, ran the 26.2-mile race in 5:06:50. 3. Jordan Litz was dancing through life with a time of 3:40:53 — giving himself an hour's rest before performing two Wicked shows as Fiyero ON THE VERY SAME DAY. I'm tired just writing that sentence. 4. Merle Dandridge from The Last of Us finished in 5:41:06. Look at the medal! 5. Summer House's Carl Radke crossed the line in 4:04:25. 6. Tyler Cameron from The Bachelorette finished in 5:38:20. 7. Joey Graziadei clocked in with 4:29:58. 8. Tanner Courtad finished just behind him with 4:30:01 9. Nic Vansteenberghe of Love Island fame ran it in 4:42:46. And as for all the other celebs who've run marathons in the past, let's start with Harry Styles — or Harry Miles-Ahead-Of-The-Competition, as we should probably call him. 10. Harry ran the 2025 Tokyo Marathon in 3:24:07... ...then, six months later, he smashed out a sub-three-hour marathon in Berlin, finishing in 2:59:13, which is, like, wildly impressive. 11. Gordon Ramsay has run a lot of marathons in his life, but his fastest time was at the London Marathon in 2004, finishing in 3:30:37. Yes, chef! 12. Marcus Mumford ran the London Marathon in 2023, finishing in under four hours at 3:51:25. Who needs Grammys when you've got a marathon medal? 13. Pamela Anderson swapped her swimsuit for sneakers and ran the 2013 NYC Marathon in 5:41:03. May I say, the backward hat is running style perfection. 14. Ethan Hawke completed the 2015 NYC Marathon in 4:25:30. Call that a Training Day. 15. Katie Holmes is no stranger to running around NYC, but in 2007, she took on the marathon, finishing with a time of 5:29:58. 16. Fight Club or Run Club? Or both? Edward Norton ran the 2009 NYC Marathon in 3:48:01. 17. Diplo seems to be running around on my TikTok FYP all the time, so it's no surprise that he has a pretty good marathon time of 3:55:16. Fun fact: He claimed to be high on LSD during this particular race in Los Angeles in 2023, so I'm not sure if that makes his time more or less impressive. 18. Will Ferrell ran the 2003 Boston Marathon in 3:56:12. Next time I'd like him to do it in the Buddy the Elf costume. 19. Josh O’Connor ran the 2023 London Marathon in 3:50:10, which I could probably do as well if I had the Challengers soundtrack playing in my ears on a loop the whole time. 20. In 2015, Alicia Keys ran 26.2 miles through the concrete jungle where dreams are made of in a time of 5:50:52. 21. Kevin Hart finished the 2017 NYC Marathon in 4:05:06. He said he was aiming for 3:28, but he wound up getting a whole-body cramp. Relatable. (It was also raining). 22. Flea of the Red Hot Chili Peppers finished the 2011 LA Marathon with a red hot time of 3:52:59. With purple hair, no less. 23. Ryan Reynolds is yet another star with a sub-four-hour marathon time, clocking in with 3:50:22 at the 2008 NYC Marathon. 24. Ashton Kutcher finished the 2022 NYC Marathon in 3:54:01. 25. Colin Farrell's marathon PB was at the 2021 Brisbane Marathon, where he finished with 3:53:14, after apparently only three months of training. We also must include an honorable mention to Colin's outing at the 2024 Dublin Marathon, where he rounded off the race by pushing his good friend, Emma, who has epidermolysis bullosa, in her wheelchair. He makes it look easy! 26. Bryan Cranston finished the 1985 NYC Marathon in 3:20:45, later saying: "...old people, children, people in bunny costumes, people who'd lost their legs, this amazing menagerie of humanity." Perfect! 27. Cynthia Erivo finished the NYC Marathon in 2016 with a time of 3:57:07. If that wasn't enough, she did the London Marathon six years later and finished with an even better time of 3:35:36. She was also deep into rehearsals for the Wicked movies at this point, too. Wow. 28. Oprah Winfrey took on the Marine Corps Marathon in 1994 and finished it in 4:29:15. 29. Karlie Kloss made the NYC streets her runway in 2017 and finished with a time of 4:41:49. (Photo providing yet more proof that it rained that year). 30. George W. Bush ran the 1993 Houston Marathon in 3:44:52. In terms of difficulty, I'd like to know which is harder: marathon training or running the country? 31. Natalie Dormer has completed the London Marathon twice, but her best time was 3:50:57 in 2014. Smashed it! There you have it, folks. Do you feel inspired? Or exhausted by just reading about these speedy stars? If you've completed a marathon before (congrats!), I'd love to know which celeb time you're closest to! But after all that, I think we can agree on one thing: Harry Styles has too much time on his hands and needs to return to making music. We're waiting, Harry.
