By DayakDaily Team KUCHING, Nov 6: A 30-year-old woman was killed in an early morning accident at Batu 16, Jalan Kuching-Serian, after the car she was driving rammed into the back of a lorry. The victim was found trapped inside her vehicle, which had overturned and suffered severe damage to its front section. According to a statement from the Sarawak Fire and Rescue Department, the department received a distress call at 4.49am today, and immediately dispatched a team of eight firefighters from the Siburan Fire and Rescue Station (BBP Siburan) to the scene, located about 12 kilometres away. “There was a victim trapped in the overturned car. The Fire Department acted to remove the victim using Rescue Tool equipment. After successfully removed, the victim was then handed over to the Ministry of Health who was present at the scene for verification,” it said. After completing rescue operations, firefighters carried out road-clearing works to remove debris and ensure the area was safe for motorists. The operation concluded at 5.39am. – DayakDaily
