QALAMPIR.UZ has received reports that a child attending the private ’’Magnat’’ kindergarten in Yunusabad district, Tashkent, for the past four months, suffered a shoulder fracture. The child’s mother contacted the editorial office, stating that her 3-year-old son’s shoulder was broken on October 21, but he did not receive timely medical assistance. She only learned about the incident after arriving at the kindergarten herself. ’’On October 21, around 5:00 pm, I arrived at the kindergarten. My child was standing sadly in the yard. Usually, he would run up to me smiling and calling Mom, but this time he walked slowly and weakly. A kindergarten staff member standing at the entrance urged him to walk faster. When I picked him up at the door, he screamed and cried loudly. I put him down, thinking maybe I was holding him incorrectly. When I checked his arm after removing his clothes, he couldn’t lift it at all and cried intensely whenever I touched him. I asked what happened, but he could not speak, only cried. Later, he told me that his teacher had pressed on him very hard,’’ the mother said. According to the mother, she tried calling the teacher after the incident but received no response. When asked about the situation via the Telegram messenger, a kindergarten staff member reportedly replied, ’’While the children were gathering blankets, others stepped on him. Nothing happened.’’ At the hospital, an X-ray confirmed a closed, subcutaneous fracture of the child’s right humerus, indicating a broken shoulder. ’’While waiting for the cast, I messaged the kindergarten staff and sent the X-ray images. I wrote, Here, it’s broken. Why did no one pay attention? My child has been suffering for hours. I was told you pressed him yourself. When I insisted that my 3-year-old’s shoulder was broken, they replied, he would have cried if it were broken; we knew. The kindergarten has a Telegram channel that includes the director and parents. I sent a detailed voice message along with the X-rays, but within two minutes, all my messages were deleted, and the channel was closed to further messages,’’ the mother added. QALAMPIR.UZ contacted the kindergarten administration for clarification. The head of the institution claimed that the child was not hurt by the teacher, but rather stepped on by other children while playing under blankets. It was suggested that the child may have mistaken the teacher picking him up from under the blanket as being ’’pressed.’’ Disciplinary action was reportedly taken against the teacher, and the management stated that they were ready to cover all medical expenses for the child’s recovery, but the family declined. The Ministry of Preschool and School Education has not yet issued an official statement regarding the incident.
