3 Must-Watch HBO Max Shows You Need to Stream in November 2025

Before the streaming era, HBO was the most powerful brand on TV. HBO Max has lost a little luster since then, but it’s still a powerhouse among streamers. HBO is keeping busy in the penultimate month of 2025 with several new and original series. Watch With Us has narrowed them down to the three must-watch HBO Max shows you need to stream in November. Our picks include a new comedy series, a French period drama and a very candid sports documentary with a polarizing figure. ‘I Love LA’ (2025) Comedian and actress Rachel Sennott created and stars in I Love LA as Maia, a woman who doesn’t necessarily want to be a star in Hollywood. She’d be happy enough if her career as a talent manager could take off. When she moved to Los Angeles from New York, Maia had to leave her codependent friends group behind. Now, they’re coming back into her life, starting with Tallulah (Odessa A’zion). Tallulah has made it as an influencer, and she brings her own personal brand of chaos when Maia takes her on as a client. In a way, Tallulah brings out the worst qualities of Maia, which is something that Maia’s current boyfriend, Dylan (Josh Hutcherson), may have trouble dealing with. Dylan is the normal guy in Maia’s circle of friends, but maybe not for long. I Love LA is now streaming on HBO Max. ‘The Seduction’ (2025) If you’ve seen any of the numerous adaptations of Dangerous Liaisons, then you probably know the gist of Pierre Choderlos de Laclos‘ French novel, Les Liaisons dangereuses. The Seduction is a French period drama that loosely adapts the book, but with the novel’s villainous Isabelle de Merteuil (Anamaria Vartolomei) in the lead. This show is treating Isabelle as the heroine of her own story, as she is betrayed by her former lover, Vicomte de Valmont (Vincent Lacoste). To get her revenge, Isabelle first needs power, and she’ll find some measure of it by seducing high-society men and worming her way into their world. Isabelle can play the game of seduction just as well as any man, but she’s going to make more than a few enemies on her way to the top. The Seduction will stream on HBO Max on November 14. ‘Alex vs ARod’ (2025) Alex Rodriguez was one of the greatest baseball players of his generation during his long career, which is where he picked up the ARod nickname. However, Rodriguez nuked his chances to get into the Baseball Hall of Fame through several missteps, including his use of performance-enhancing drugs that led to a season-long suspension. HBO’s Alex vs ARod is a documentary that examines the contradictions of Rodriguez, who sat for extended interviews for this project. Rodriguez appears to largely own up to his mistakes in the trailer, and he also emphasizes that therapy helped save his life and made him a better man. It’s likely that Rodriguez will still be a polarizing figure after this documentary, but the documentary allows him to explain himself and offer contrition for falling short as a person. Alex vs ARod will stream on HBO Max on November 6.
