CLEVELAND, Ohio – As cooler air settles in across Northeast Ohio, the season brings more than falling leaves: Three marquee shopping/fest experiences are scheduled over multiple days.
Here’s a look at the upcoming events this fall in chronological order:
Ohio Mart
Location: Stan Hywet Hall & Gardens, Akron. When: Oct. 2-5. Target audience: For those wanting a unique, handcrafted gift or an addition to home décor.
This long-running juried art and craft showcase returns for its 58th year, bringing together almost 150 artisans working in ceramics, textiles, jewelry, woodwork, garden art and more. The historic estate is the preserved home and gardens of F.A. Seiberling, co-founder of Goodyear Tire and Rubber Co., and his family. Ticket holders also get self-guided access to the Manor House and gardens. Food vendors (offering barbecue, Greek, Thai, Mexican and other flavors) will be available, along with a “vintage finds and curious goods” tent for unusual collectibles and a display of needlework, quilts and beaded work in the stitchery showcase. I-X Trick or Treat Street
Location: International Exposition Center, Cleveland. When: Oct. 18-19 and 25-26. Target audience: Families with kids young enough for trick or treating.
After nearly 30 years, this indoor, family-friendly event invites children under 10 to wander through “not-so-spooky” decorated houses, collect candy, ride kiddie rides and enjoy live entertainment. While Trick or Treat Street is primarily a Halloween event, it doubles as a chance to pick up seasonal treats, novelty items and fall-themed goodies from vendors positioned along the route.
