A 27-year-old model, identified as Khushboo Ahirwar, was found dead in Bhopal under mysterious circumstances, with her family alleging that she was a victim of “love jihad” and murder. Khushboo was a resident of Mandi Bamora in Madhya Pradesh’s Bamora district and worked as a model in Bhopal. Her family alleged that a man named Qasim Ahmed had introduced himself to her under the alias of Rahul some time ago and had taken her to Ujjain. Mayur Khandelwal, DCP Bhopal, told News18 India that Khushboo and Qasim had been living together in a live-in relationship for more than 1.5 years. Last night, she was travelling by bus with Qasim when her health suddenly deteriorated. According to police, Khushboo lost consciousness and her condition worsened, prompting Qasim to take her to Chirayu Hospital. Khushboo was admitted to a hospital, but the doctors declared her dead. A case of unnatural death has been registered. However, police sources confirmed that serious injury marks were found on her body, including belt marks on her waist and head wounds, and her body had turned blue. Her family claimed that she was beaten to death. Khushboo’s sister says that more than one person was involved in the incident. Khushboo’s family alleged that Qasim and some of his friends beat her, leaving blue and green marks all over her body, including injuries on her neck. The accused was pressuring Khushboo to convert her religion and marry him, while assuring that they would return from Ujjain immediately, according to News18 India. Police detained the accused and launched an investigation into the incident. Police are currently examining Qasim’s background, and he is under interrogation. So far, no evidence of religious conversion has emerged. Bhopal police also stated that a case of murder can only be confirmed after the post-mortem report, and the age and cause of the injuries will also be determined after the report.
